Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Truett Dietz earned his BFA in drawing, painting, and printmaking from Georgia State University. After graduation, he worked as a studio assistant for the artists Joe Peragine, Scott Ingram, and Radcliffe Bailey. He spent many years an art handler — packing, transporting, and hanging artwork at major Atlanta institutions, museums, and private collections. He has also worked as a commercial artist, graphic designer, photographer, and archivist, but collage is the primary focus of his fine art practice.
